Role in the project:

The Healthy Kids of Seinäjoki Development Platform (HKS) has its roots in the City of Seinäjoki’s Decreasing Obesity program 2013-2020. The aim of the program is to reduce obesity in children and adolescents and obesity-related diseases through lifestyle guidance, nutrition, exercise and urban planning. The City of Seinäjoki is an example of Health in All Policies, where all sectors of the city promote health and well-being with families and the third sector. In addition, HKS’s multi-disciplinary development platform network includes companies that also contribute to the well-being of the population and the environment. The HKS theme is managed by a steering group appointed by the Mayor and consisting of representatives from the City of Seinäjoki, Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences and Into Seinäjoki Ltd. The Healthy Kids of Seinäjoki model aims to promote the overall well-being of children and families through multi-sectoral cooperation. Childhood obesity is a global challenge and there is a growing international demand for related solutions.
