Once again this year, the people of Marseille were able to discover another edition of the 48h de l’agriculture urbaine (48 hours of urban agriculture). On the program: discovery of shared gardens, parks and urban farms that embody the values of agriculture in the city, at workshops and conferences that over 1,500 of you discovered and explored.
In all, 57 of Marseille’s structures opened their doors to the public over the weekend, with the aim of helping people of all backgrounds, young and old alike, to discover the issues involved in the ecological transition of our cities. At the 67 events held throughout the city, participants were able to learn how to compost, sow seeds, repot, exchange plants and cuttings and much more. These efforts were sometimes rewarded with fine (and tasty!) meals and snacks concocted during cooking workshops. Children and parents also went to meet beekeepers and urban shepherds, where they were able to witness the harvesting of honey and the shearing of sheep. Urban agriculture enthusiasts also attended and debated after documentary screenings and lectures on the food and ecological future of our cities.
These were great moments of discovery, sharing and exchange, as part of a festival celebrating the richness of Marseille’s urban agricultural landscape.
- Number of participating structures/persons: 57, 12 more than last year.
- Number of people reached by the event: 1,500 people on the networks, nearly 1,300 people present at the events according to the figures given by the structures. Same figure as last year.
- Number of media coverage: 12, +1 compared with 2022.
- More than a dozen new players have joined the festival program.
