The “Cities2030 Ethics, Gender and RRI Self-Assessment Tool” is a comprehensive questionnaire designed to evaluate and enhance ethical considerations, gender inclusivity, and research and innovation methodologies within City Region Food Systems (CRFS). Structured into three key blocks—Ethical Considerations, Gender Inclusivity, and Research and Innovation Methodologies—the tool provides both quantitative and qualitative measures for assessment. It facilitates the understanding of food ethics, gender dynamics, and innovative practices, encouraging communities to explore values guiding food production, distribution, and consumption. The tool also addresses institutional and individual responsibilities, obstacles to human rights approaches in food security, and the influence of food environments. Gender inclusivity is assessed through a collaborative evaluation process, aiming to improve gender representation and equality within CRFS. The research and innovation section focuses on community engagement, data-driven practices, knowledge exchange, and technological accessibility, with a strong emphasis on ethical research practices. This tool serves as a vital resource for communities striving to create equitable and sustainable food systems, fostering continuous improvement through regular evaluations and feedback mechanisms.
