March 29th, 2022 | Events | Cities2030 to drive the transition

Tuesday, March 29, 2022

#Cities2030 is a citizen-driven initiative.

Cities2030 builds evidence-driven pathways towards sustainable urban food systems enabling citizen-led bottom-up ventures, and in particular, exploring the potential of “laboratories” to foster, accelerate and shorten innovation cycles, towards building more sustainable Cities and Regions Food Systems (CRFS)

Today and next day, the project partners meet for the second project “Virtual General Assembly” (March 29-30th, 2022), to share the project Cities2030 achievements for the first main phase e.g., from October 2020 (project launch) to March 2022, and to structure key findings for the next phase.

The meeting is organised in two sessions. The first, held on Tuesday March 29th, 2022, addresses the operational dimension of the project, via linking the planned objective of each group of activities, which structure the project implementation in “work packages”, with the practical outputs realised so far. Here, each partners has the opportunity to share with the group the step-by-step development of the project started in October 2020, and discuss a vast number of topics ranging for the impact of Covid-19 on the action plan, to the content and format of the outputs as such.

The second session, held on Wednesday March 30th, 2022, offers the opportunity for each of the project 19 countries’ partners, to share there experience and key learnings on the specifics of the activities developed in the field in the past 18 months. Here, each partners has the occasion to introduce to the audience the details of activities such as the engagement and connection of the actors of the CRFS per their realities, via surveys and structured dialogues, or workshops and study-visits, to name but these few. A particular focus is given to the project’s CRFS Labs, which constitute the mainstream support platform to host the project’s multi actors innovation processes.
