The Stakeholder Dialogue on Reducing Agriculture’s Carbon Footprint event took place on 17.04.2024 in Skopje, North Macedonia, organized by AgFutura Technologies and supported by GGP, funded by EU, through Carbonica project, USAID, GIZ and Palladium, aiming to contribute to the future of carbon farming, the new technologies and synergies. The main objective of the Dialogue was to bring together regional actors (farmers, policymakers, academia, advisors and tech providers) with different interests in agriculture, so that they can interact and appreciate each other’s perceptions and views on the needs and gaps in the enabling environment in the Balkans region in the context of carbon footprint in agriculture.
The main focus of the stakeholder Dialogue was on raising the awareness about the importance of the process of Reducing Agriculture’s Carbon Footprint and its effects. Some of the primary topics of discussion round tables included: Current state of the enabling environment in the Balkans in the context of carbon footprint in agriculture; and Needs and Gaps among actors in the agri-food sector in the scope of Carbonica project, followed by a special session focused on Access to finance and technical support for carbon farming.
This event presented an excellent opportunity to discuss innovative strategies, to share best practices, and advocate for policy measures to reduce carbon footprint, paving the way for the future of carbon farming. Additionally, as part of this event, during the entire day project synergy was organized for networking, exchange of knowledge and experiences for all interested parties and presentation of different innovative EU projects including Cities2030 project.
