Flemish greenhouse horticulture is at a pivotal point in its energy transformation journey, with the goal of achieving climate neutrality by 2050. For some, this represents a significant challenge, while others view the impact of this transition as an energy drain. The most recent edition of Glashelder, held on Thursday 9 November at Agrotopia, therefore placed the theme of energy in the spotlight.
At the outset of the evening, attendees were invited to participate in a brief interactive survey to identify the primary source of heat loss from a greenhouse. The results highlighted a notable degree of ambiguity surrounding this issue. This was followed by a series of presentations from researchers, showcasing innovative solutions to combat heat loss.
The event, which was attended by over 70 participants, served as both an inspiration and networking opportunity for the sector. Following the presentations, attendees were able to engage in knowledge exchange and networking while enjoying a gourmet hamburger.
