The CRFS Serious Game is designed to support the exploration of City Region Food Systems (CRFS) by simulating real-world challenges and opportunities. The game board (developed in two options) consists of start and finish spaces, with players navigating through tasks, drawing from three card decks—Barriers, Tips, and Accelerators—that reflect various CRFS scenarios.
Through gameplay, participants engage in critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration. The game aims to enhance understanding of CRFS dynamics while promoting teamwork and the sharing of strategies.
Each turn introduces challenges that prompt discussion and strategic decision-making, simulating real-life barriers and solutions found within the Cities2030 project. The game’s structure encourages group discussions, making it a collective learning experience. By the conclusion, participants will have developed deeper insights into CRFS challenges, gained knowledge of best practices, and explored potential solutions for enhancing sustainable food systems.
